Everyone is stating the election will be determined by the economy. I see it a little different. I think the main issue will shift back to national security. Unemployment claims are down, as of this post the price per barrel is down to $100 a barrel, and business is picking up for small business.
More people are working which means more money spent causing employers to hire employees which goes to more people are spending more money. Do you see the circle this creates? This is the cycle our small business is going through. Business is the best it has been in the seven years we have been in business. We are currently looking into hiring 2 - 3 employees and buying service vehicles for them. It is the same with fuel costs. Lower prices mean more driving, traveling and less fuel charges. Therefore you are spending more money and not only in your local community.
The economy is turning around but national and world security is still the same. Even though the media is not reporting all the successes in Iraq, like turning over the most violent providence over to the Iraqis, there are still issues with the Russians invading Georgia, Afghanistan is seeing an increase in fighting, and let us not forget the political change over in Pakistan. These are major issues which will start to effect politics.
The Obama campaign has stated people can not make their credit cards payments, home mortgage, buy groceries, and pay for higher utilities. These are all personal choices. If you can not make the credit card payments then cut up the credit cards. If you can not make your house payment, downsize or work with your mortgage company to get back on track. They do not want the mortgage to default. When you make these behavioral and financial changes, you will have more money for soon to be falling utilities, groceries and all other essentials. It is not the governments responsibilities to save you from your personal decisions. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR ACTIONS.
So, there are just a few reasons it will not be the economy. The elections will be about national security and the threats the Obama campaign does not want to address.
